GÖRLITZ
AG opens subsidiary company in Italy.
The articles of agreement for the Italian subsidiary
company GOERLITZ Italia s.r.l. were signed on the 28th of March 2001,
thereby giving the “GO-ahead” for another company in the
GÖRLITZ Group.
GOERLITZ Italia s.r.l. is located in Milan in the north
of Italy and deals with such major companies as ENEL, GRTN as well as
numerous communal
and regional utilities. 90% of the company is owned by the German parent
company GÖRLITZ AG and the Italian management bears the remaining
10%, Dr. Giovanni Riboldi acts as the general manager.
The Italian subsidiary has acquired a large share of the
Italian market in the energy data transmission sector. Two major utility
companies,
ENEL (the second largest in Europe) and GRTN, have already installed
GÖRLITZ systems for the collection of meter data. The ENEL system
is the largest system for automatic meter reading in Europe and collects
load profile data for over 100,000 customers on a daily basis. Other
well known public utility companies such as ACEA Roma or AEM Milano also
utilise GÖRLITZ products.
