ENC KKE/FMKE |

| Transmission- and reception amplifier for MIDAS systems | |
|
ENC KKE/FMKE consists of an active transmission- and reception amplifying unit for coupling the modulated signals of the ENC 400(MP)- and ENC 400(MC) devices into and out of medium voltage cable shields or PSTN cables. It comes in an aluminium case for wall mounting. The device is connected to the data concentrator ENC 400(MP) or a MIDAS controller board ENC 400(MC) by means of a circular connector. The maximum cable length to the data concentrator or controller must not exceed 50 m. The connecting cable to the cable shield converter must not be more than 3 m. Coupling into a two-wire PSTN cable is done through direct connection
of the two wires to the ENC KKE/FMKE by means of a circular connector.
If the cable shield of a medium voltage cable is used as the transmission
medium, a cable shield converter ENC KUW is needed for the physical process
of coupling in. Depending on the transmission medium used, a jumper has
to be plugged into the device. ENC KUW
Signal current on the cable shield are converted in adequate voltages and vice versa. So this is a passive module for the galvanically separated signal coupling on the cable shield. ENC KUW is prepared for connection to the transceiver unit ENC KKE/FMKE. To guarantee a safe access to the transceiver units even during operation of the medium voltage installation we recommend the installation of the units outside the dangerous area, if possible. ENC KUW is fitted with a 3m connection cable for this purpose. The cable shield coupling transducer can be separated into two half-shells
for easy installation. Separation of the cable shield is not necessary. |
