“There is a shortage of thousands of engineers in Germany, and the problem is intensified by the demographic shift. Numerous products must be redesigned and redeveloped to meet environmental and resource considerations. Entire industries are undergoing transformation. We must do more for the next generation and start doing it now.” This heartfelt plea was made by Martin Görlitz, founder and chairman of the foundation.

The foundation actively promotes this viewpoint. The Solar Boat Cup, the youth workshop or the pedal-powered cinema; under the guidance of experienced engineers, technicians and teachers, the younger generation acquires not only insight to, but also gains practical knowledge of the world of energy, technology and environment.
