The ambitious aim of both politicians and society to raise the proportion of renewable energy to 50 % by 2050 and establish
decentralised generation of energy – this demands completely new approaches to energy delivery, usage and billing. Smart Grids and Smart Metering will replace today’s static systems and enable dynamic load flows aligned with patterns of generation.
Smart consumption results from the smart use of electricity and must be smartly measured. Load management and billing systems with upstream online remote reading are key factors for the successful remodelling of our energy system. Putting the changes into practise, intelligently and consciously
We must learn to take account of nature when designing energy supply systems and to exercise more awareness when employing natural resources. Naturally this does not mean turning the clock back and grinding corn whenever the wind blows, but we can pay a little more attention to Mother Nature’s cycle.
Sustainable ideas and actions are the order of the day; they are needed to adapt our technically influenced environment to the fundamental changes in our energy world. In times of lacking renewables, energy consumption can be increased in price precisely or energy saving can be rewarded immediately. Energy transportation can only be minimized, if we know the exact energy demand which needs to be generated and transmitted.
Driving in the city or on the motorway, we can easily cite figures about fuel consumption, whereas we are not so knowledgeable about the wattage of the circulation pump in our heating system or our two-door refrigerator. Smart Metering is the answer; it lets us see our energy consumption at a glance and also encourages to exercise more awareness in using energy resources. A small step for the end consumer but a big step for Mother Nature.

GÖRLITZ systems are implemented at a highly sensitive point in the process chain of energy generation and supply. Consumption data in the energy industry is equivalent to delivery notes in trade, both are proof that goods have been transferred.
The metering systems we have currently implemented provide for the remote reading of around 12.5 million metering points daily in over 870 customer projects. This represents a challenge; providing our customers with reliable 24/7 technology and to implement an optimised process for both the product and the project, including reliability tests, maintenance, hotline and on-site service.
